A Georgian Treasure
"Norwood House is undoubtedly one of the most significant buildings in Beverley and one of few Grade One listed buildings in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Over a period of decades Norwood House has unfortunately slowly deteriorated in condition.
We, at Friends of Norwood House, hope to complete a programme for the house, which will effect a sympathetic reconstruction and preservation of the main structure, both internally and externally.
The survival and restoration of this exceptional 18th Century Georgian building is essential, if Beverley is not to lose a cornerstone of its architectural and social History."
Gillian Taylor - Chair of the Trustees
Make a Difference
We invite you to join the Friends of Norwood House to help protect and preserve this exceptional piece of architectural and culttural heritage for Beverley, East Yorkshire and the nation. There are many ways in which you can help. We would like to hear from people with professional skills they can contribute, schools and colleges who would like to make Norwood House a focus for educational projects, and organisations and companies who would like to give their community and fundraising efforts a highly visible focus.
Norwood House on the Web
You may have spotted a few changes to the website if you are a regular visitor. The Trustees would again like to thank M. Wake (formally of Beverley High School) for the creation of the original website, much of the content of which has been retained in our revision by S. Davies in September 2007 and again in this latest version. Our newest trustee, Miss Louise Priestman, is our new web editor. Any questions or comments concerning the website can be emailed to webmaster@norwoodhouse.org. Louise would also like to hear from you if you have photographs of Norwood House
